James'big red ride - 2017

Story

G'day everyone,

I'm excited to be doing the Big Red Ride again, for the 4th time. Especially as this time I'll be doing it with my son, Kieran. We're inspired by our friend Carsten, and his son Jamie who has Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. This is our way of trying to help in some small way, we hope you can help out too.

Simply click 'Donate Now' to make a secure online donation.

Thank you so much for your support, Jamie and other kids like him will benefit enormously from your generous sponsorship.

James

Muscular Dystrophy NSW

Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating neuromuscular disorder, which results in the progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function. It affects 20,000 people in Australia and is more prevalent than Cystic Fibrosis, Huntington's Disease and Tay Sachs Disease combined. The most common form is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which primarily affects boys. Onset of this condition is between 3 and 5 years of age and the disorder progresses rapidly with most boys completely dependent on an electric wheelchair by their early teens. Life expectancy for this disorder is usually only until late teens or early twenties.
