Support Me to Start The Big Red Ride!
Story
Hi there everyone,
As a Board Member and someone who has been personally supported by all the amazing work of Muscular Dystrophy NSW, I am honoured to be at the opening of the Big Red Ride on Sunday 16 November 2014. I will be participating in the ride by completing 1km in my electric wheelchair from South Bondi to Bondi Pavilion alongside DJ Glenn Wheeler from 2CH and in the process I will be raising funds to help support Muscular Dystrophy NSW's Kids For Life program which aims to satisfy the unmet needs of young people across New South Wales living with this condition by funding -
- Children’s camps and respite programs
- Critical equipment for medical, accessibility and communication needs
- Access to sport and special interest programs
- Counselling and health therapies
At the Bondi Pavilion I will pass the 'torch' to the riders so they can start their epic 150km journey uphill to the Three Sisters in Katoomba. This will be symbolic of me passing the 'torch' to the younger generation of children living with neuro-muscular conditions who need the support of the Muscular Dystrophy NSW and their new and exciting Kids for Life Program!

Muscular Dystrophy NSW
Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating neuromuscular disorder, which results in the progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function. Muscular Dystrophy is the name of one of more than 75 different types of neuromuscular conditions. There are more than 40,000 people in Australia who have some form of neuromuscular condition, 13,000 of whom live in NSW.
